Nobody has the power to control the future.
But, there is plenty that can be done to improve it for yourself.
What I’m about to go into detail on within this article is something that if you apply then I guarantee has the potential to change the outcome of your life forever.
No, I’m not going to tell you to start taking some magic pill. I’m not going to say you need to sip down any detox teas or potions, either. And you definitely won’t hear me hocking any other form of snake oil type products. None of that shit works.

I’m talking about a real way to “future-proof” your body.
The single one thing you can do that will help you boost your metabolism, add muscle, improve your strength, enhance your bone health, maintain a leaner physique, and drastically reduce your risk of disease, chronic illness, and injury.
It’s the ultimate all-in-one remedy. No snake oil.
You know what it’s called? Strength training.
I’m going to make a case that everybody (you and I included) need it in their daily lives. Honestly, it should be as common-place as brushing your teeth or taking out the trash.
The benefits are just far too extraordinary. There’s a reason that doctors and those who study the ins-and-outs of the science of long-term health have this to say about it.
“If exercise could in some way be packaged into a pill, it would be the single most widely prescribed and beneficial medication in the entire world.”

Let’s honestly and truly assess what happens as we travel along life’s timeline and start to tack on the years and decades under our belts. Getting your science hat on?
- The denervation process occurs and motor neurons become less available
- Muscle atrophy take place (we start losing our lean muscle mass stores)
- Force production decreases separately from just this loss in muscle
- The endocrine system takes a hit and testosterone/hormones start to dip
- Fatty infiltrates and connective tissue begin to replace our lean body mass
The outcome of all of these things?
We lose our potential to do the things we love. Through this impact on our body, our function is impaired, and along with it our abilities to participate in all of those activities that we love and enjoy the most. Our daily life starts to become affected.
And that sucks. I don’t want that and I’m sure you don’t either.
Unfortunately there’s this strange and common misconception that people have with these combined effects of aging resulting in a “normal” loss of our capacity for living.
Think about how many times you have heard the following.
“Just wait until you’re my age.
In my younger days, I could _____.
I can’t do __________, I’m too old.”
This kind of language needs to stop.
I’m passionately against the mindset of being passive to a process that to a certain degree we have control over. That includes letting your age (some number) take away how you are able to go about your life.
So then, what’s the alternative?
Use your body. Strengthen it. Find a way to be held accountable.
Get into the habit, just like brushing your teeth, just like taking out the trash, of putting your body under load and training it to overcome the many resistances in our lives.
What you are doing now is building a muscle and metabolic “reserve” that will help you to stay leaner, stronger, and live a better and more fulfilled life. Now and in the future.
