Winter Arc, Change Your Life In 90 Days.

Winter is coming.

No doubt about it, we’re through the first *hump* of the holidays and with it comes a change in the season to a quieter and more relaxed time of the year. For most people.

If you’re in any way connected to the health and fitness community, or occasionally find yourself scrolling through TikTok or Instagram Reels in your down-time… it’s likely you have stumbled across the latest trend and hype-generating buzz-word, the winter-arc.

What is a winter-arc? The concept is simple.

As the days get shorter, the nights colder, and most of us bunker-down indoors for the winter conditions; a select few turn our attention to our habits and self-improvement. Instead of cozying up with a blanket and cup of coffee to watch movies in pajamas, we hit the gym, eat more healthily, and become laser-focused on one thing – progress.

  • In our bodies (losing some accrued weight, building lean muscle)
  • In our finances (paying away debt, saving for a big purchase, investing)
  • In our mindset (developing skills, taking on new hobbies, gaining knowledge)

The majority of people take these next few months as a down-period before the new year. Before they know it, the year 2025 will have arrived and they will be settling into brainstorming up their New Year’s goals and setting their sights on the year ahead.

A winter-arc, done right, can give you a leg up to self-examine and notice the areas that need your full attention and to choose to address them now, as opposed to later.

Embodying the “winter-arc” mentality in my own workouts lately.

You see, the natural tendency in these cold months is to reduce our time spent being social, turn our attention to comfort, and prioritize rest and relaxation. You can flip the script, however, and make this also a time to analyze ways to improve yourself.

The result afterwards?

You come out of a time period where others have descended in the path to their goals and you have arc-ed your way to emerging this season a newer, more leveled-up YOU.

The weather gets warm again and you emerge with a stronger, more powerful body and more resources at your disposal in all areas to enjoy the fruits of your labors or to keep making strides and leaps toward even greater milestones…

Almost like you entered into a sort of Cryo-Chamber and emerged a superhero.

Enter the chamber of self-improvement (AKA the winter-arc)

I know for myself, that I will plan to make big pushes in the winter season in terms of my own self-growth and goals. There will always be plenty of time for enjoyment, it is easily accessible in today’s world and always there when we want it. Our goals aren’t!

Here’s the challenge: take these next 3 months to seriously dive in deep and work to build yourself.

You have the opportunity to use this winter-arc season to get locked-in and no longer give yourself the same old excuses that you have had all year long. It’s time to step-up.

And to come out a Leaner, Stronger, and Better version of yourself.

After all, that’s the goal and purpose we strive for in this community.
